Individual Portraits Are For Every Age and Stage

When most people hear “portraits,” they think senior photos or headshots...but these sessions are so much more than that! They’re for any age, any stage, and any story you want to tell. Maybe you’re graduating, launching a business, writing music, celebrating a milestone birthday, or simply wanting to capture yourself as you are right now. These sessions are about you.

A Session That’s All Yours

Before we even meet with a camera, I’ll send over a short questionnaire. Think of it as a way for me to get to know you: your hobbies, something you’re proud of, how you imagine your photos, and even how you feel about being in front of the camera. Your answers help me shape a session that feels natural, true to you, and comfortable from the start.

Where We’ll Go

The beauty of an individual portrait session is that the location can be anywhere that fits your vibe. My studio is always an option if you want a timeless, neutral backdrop. Outdoors is perfect if you feel most yourself in nature or love the energy of the city. In-home portraits can feel personal and relaxed. And sometimes the best places are the most unexpected! I’ve photographed an aspiring pilot at the airport dog park and lobby, and another client in a staged room at a cactus shop in Minneapolis. No two sessions are alike, because no two people are alike.

What to Expect

Most sessions are about 45 minutes and include one location, with the option to add on more time or places if you’d like. From there, you’ll receive a fully edited gallery and choose your favorite 20 images (with the option to purchase more if you fall in love with extras).

The feel of these galleries is different from a family session. Where family photos are all about connection, interaction, and a little bit of beautiful chaos (don't get me wrong, there's still plenty of this involved), individual portraits are about focus. They’re a reflection of your personality, your style, and your aspirations. Every image centers on you, and my goal is for you to walk away with photos that feel authentic and empowering.
